Frequently asked questions
How much does a website cost?
While this isn’t a straight forward answer, we’ll do our best to explain how we price things. So if you’re a small business or a budding new business, we offer a number of small business/start-up packages to get you off to the races and give your clients some basic information about what you do. These typically start at $1,500 but depending on the intensity of the website, the price can increase if there are more integrations and functionality built in to the site. If you’re ever curious on how much your site would cost, just reach out. You never have any obligation to use our services after receiving an estimate.
How long does it take to build a website?
Once again, this isn’t a straightforward answer (since every project is it’s own unique thing). At base functionality, one month is our expected turn around time. This is not factoring in a bunch of additional functionality, other slated projects, and any other unforeseen circumstance. So everything is always subject to change, but if you have a specific timeline, chances are we can make it work, we may just need to shift some things around. No biggie.
What services does a graphic designer offer?
Generally a graphic design might offer specific niche services within the broad spectrum of graphic design. We can cover everything your heart desires, and then some. We work on branding projects (logo design, voice, messaging, color choice, font families, etc.), marketing pieces (one-sheets, flyers, postcards, sales sheets, presentations, business cards, etc.), Editorial work (magazine design, layout, pre-press, print management, digitization, etc.), Digital Design (web design and development, social media content, digital ads, email newsletters, blog content, etc.), and a ton more. Basically if you can name it, we can do it.
Do I really need SEO for my website?
Absolutely you do. Think about when you’re trying to get information on something or finding a new service provider, where do you go? Google, Bing, Chat GPT, etc. and pose a question. Creating curated content specifically to what people are searching for to find businesses in your industry will give you a huge leg up when being found by potential customers. The more high-quality content on your website that speaks directly to your industry, the higher Google will rank you in their search results as you will be a trusted resource.
What’s the difference between copywriting and content writing?
This is a great question and can a lot of times get people all turned around. Copywriting is marketing messaging in a nutshell. Its the words the are written to sell someone on you, your services, and/or your business. This will usually be on the main pages of your website, sales sheets, and other marketing materials you put out there. Copywriting is also where you can establish the voice of your business and where customers will either connect with you or find someone else they can. Content writing is more on the side of useful or entertaining writing to help drive you being the expert in your field. It’s also where you can really build in a lot of SEO value bringing more people who arent familiar with your business to your website. Both have their place and are important for different reasons.
Do web designers also write content?
Not generally, and if they do, it’s not usually very good. A good web designer is good at designing websites. They’re great at creating layouts that have a hierarchy leading visitors to the places you want them to go and making it easy to navigate. Good content writers get them to the site in the first place. They also give them something to engage with once they’re there. The longer someone spends on your website (for good reasons), the more likely they are to trust you and use your services in the future.
Can't AI just do all of this for basically nothing?
Is AI capable of creating images and writing words when prompted? Sure, but when you scroll through facebook and instagram and 70 percent of the flyers and advertisements you see are AI generated, the 30 percent are going to stand out. Differentiating yourself is key in the competitive business landscape that we operate in. AI certainly can help come up with concepts and speed up the process when developing new ideas, but it leaves a lot to be desired when putting together real relatable content and design. Additionally, we’ll never create an image of a person with 7 fingers on one hand.
